Elect Jesus Silva to North Orange County Community College

I have served our community as a city councilmember and mayor, educated our children as a teacher, and I am running for Community College Board to open doors, create opportunities, and be a voice for all of North Orange County.

I need your help

I am ready from day one to bring my experience to the college board and ensure our students are supported, our faculty respected, and our programs strengthened for the future.

But I can’t do it alone. Campaigns for local office still require significant resources to be competitive — especially at a time when public education is under pressure. That’s why I’m asking for your financial support.

Jesus J. Silva is a lifelong public servant, educator, and community leader who has dedicated his career to improving opportunities for students and strengthening their quality of life.

Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Jesus came to the United States with his family at the age of six. On November 17, 1987, he achieved one of his proudest accomplishments—becoming a U.S. citizen. He has lived in Fullerton since 1991, where he has devoted himself to his family and public service.

Since 1999, Jesus has worked for the Fullerton School District, teaching at Nicolas Junior High School for over 20 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles, as well as a Teaching Credential and Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from California State University, Fullerton. His dedication to his students reflects his lifelong belief that education is the foundation for opportunity and success.

In 2012, Jesus began his service to the City of Fullerton as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner. Four years later, he was elected to the Fullerton City Council, serving from 2016 to 2022, including as Mayor in 2019. During his tenure, he prioritized community engagement, public safety, infrastructure, and maintaining Fullerton’s unique character.

Beyond his council service, Jesus has represented North Orange County on regional and statewide boards, including the Orange County Sanitation District Board of Directors (where he chaired the Legislative Affairs Committee), the Southern California Association of Governments, and the Groundwater Replenishment District. He also served as Director of Local Issues and Policy for the Community Water Systems Alliance and as Local Engagement Director for Ortega Strategies Group and currently leads Silva-QS Consulting, a firm specializing in government relations and public policy.

Jesus is married to Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva, and together they are the proud parents of four accomplished young adults—Molly, Catherine, Patrick, and Jack-Ryan.

With deep roots in education, a proven record of public leadership, and a passion for serving his community, Jesus J. Silva is running to represent the North Orange County Community College District in 2026. He is committed to ensuring that every student has access to high-quality, affordable education and that our community colleges remain pathways to opportunity for future generations.
